People are given no good choices.

“Parenthood is often delayed past what makes sense biologically. That’s because people are given no good choices. Help from family evaporates into thin air when jobs change and people move far away. Some of us worry that pair-bonding and having children at all is a bad idea, maybe even ‘a choice for consumption.’ We’ve made it so hard to start a family, no wonder many people give up. Minimum wages are so low no one can live on that little well enough to have a child. Even when well paid, many of us are so unhappy with our present work-life imbalance we are (as it were) doubting our human future. Meanwhile, our fancy jobs are killing the planet, and we are too with our consumerism when everything we buy is shipped to us in yet another container from somewhere else. No wonder we fear doom! We’re working hard to bring it about. Our American trajectory is starting to look less like an accident than a well-planned suicide.”

A purchase of the paperback right now really will help the book far more than buying it later. And if you decide to give away copies of my book as gifts to family and friends or to those you work with - say to everyone you know :) - please order those extra copies today.
