Biographer Nigel Cameron is President Emeritus of the Center for Policy on Emerging Technologies (C-PET) in Washington, DC, which he founded in 2007 and led for ten years, former Technology Editor at UnHerd.com and Fulbright Visiting Research Chair in Science and Society at the University of Ottawa, Canada. A native of the UK, he is also a citizen of the United States and Belgium.

A graduate of Cambridge and Edinburgh Universities and the Edinburgh Business School, before founding C-PET he was Research Professor & Associate Dean at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT), where he established the first US university center on nanotechnology & its social implications, and led a multi-sectoral study of the implications of diabetes.

He has written widely on the policy impacts of emerging technologies, including: Innovation President (Amazon Kindle), The New Medicine, & Nanoscale: Issues for the Nano Century, and Will Robots Take Your Job? A Plea for Consensus (Polity Press / John Wiley). Next up: first biography of Dr. C. Everett Koop, due out April 2025.

He has been a featured speaker at the Aspen Ideas Festival, Aspen Global Health Forum, the STARS business leaders' symposium, and Economist conferences on innovation and the digital economy.

He has also served on US delegations to the UN and UNESCO, and was invited to participate in the State Department-led scenario planning Project Horizon, and served as an adviser to several technology companies.
